Retro Revival Weekend August 18-21, 2011
Evelyn Malloy – has put information together for this opportunity…. While not an official TCT gathering – if you are looking for a last minute “staycation” Give this a thought… and contact Evelyn at Evelyn Malloy Thanks Evelyn!

Here’s some more information:
BE THERE OR BE SQUARE Groveland Oaks County Park RetroRevival!

Please share info with your friends in Vintage Camping! Lets get a big group! Only $10 a night, for vintage rigs (discounted just for us)…it’s a great time to visit, lots going on.

I’ve heard from the Chamber of Commerce for Holly, and the campground. I’ve attached links for the Dream Cruise and the Renaissance Festival, as well as Groveland Oaks Park and Campground, at the end of this message.

Per our contact at the park, “For the Retro Revival weekend (August ) we will have a black light bash,
crazy hair, face and body painting, tie dye, hula hoop contest bubblegum blowing contest, flower power art, hayrides and an oldies band. We are also telling the campers that they will be able to tour your group area to see the trailers. If you would like information about the town of Holly it is about four miles from the park.”

To attend, simply show up! We have 30 sites reserved for us (only $10 per night) and another 30 to spill-over into, near the first loop of 30. So far, ten of us committed to attending, several others strongly
interested.

Groveland Oaks Campground is located at:

There is a large pavillion for our use, and large group campfire pit. Also horseshoe pits, 2 water spigots on our “loop” plus electric and a picnic table on all the campsites. If you wish to extend your stay, before or after the Retro weekend, you may stay Wednesday to Wednesday at the same $10 per night rate!

Per Holly Chamber of Commerce: “Most of the stores in Downtown Holly are open on Sundays from 1-5 pm. And on Friday and Saturday most of them close at 5 pm also. We have a farmer’s market that is from 2-8 pm on Friday’s that is at the Holly Mill downtown Holly. The Renaissance Festival does have specials you would need to check out their web-site for more information www.michrenfest.com.”

I’d like to know your preferences for hours we should host open house (Saturday afternoon or evening?) The campground has made known that people can tour our group area (see the outsides), but won’t publicize the time for touring inside trailers till the week before. I’ll call the camp coordinator about that next weekend; would you prefer Saturday 1:00 – 4:00 or maybe 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.? I’m hoping we can all meet one evening for a pot luck, maybe Friday night? Any preferences?

Please forward to your vintage camping friends, the more the merrier; we have maybe 10 now, with space for up to 60
