Many participants took the opportunity to head to historic Savannah for a day of sightseeing while others went to the beach or the pool.
The evening began with preparations for the fantastic S’mores bar coordinated by members Rhonda Wood and Kim Russell. By 6 p.m. the fire was roaring and the natives were getting restless. Our coordinators outdid themselves by giving people ample opportunities to get creative.
Bamboo skewers were soaked in water and sat in a red vintage water cooler for use. The table was spread with Graham crackers, square marshmallows and a variety of toppings.
- Peanut butter cups
- Chocolate mint patties
- Milk Chocolate Squares
- Cookies ‘n Cream squares
- Dark Chocolate
- Fresh Banana slices
The large square jet-puffed square marshmallows packaged exclusively for creating S’mores were a huge hit. Many attendees exclaimed they would be a requirement at all future campfire gatherings. One father shared that we’d spoiled his kids forever! Everyone had a blast creating multiple kinds of S’mores and sitting around the fire enjoying one another’s company.
At midnight, you could still hear folks laughing around t multiple campfires throughout the campground.
