For sale. 1949 Schult 30' Cavalier travel trailer. $5000. Located in Frenchtown Montana. Solid 77 year old trailer. At one time this used by wildlife biologists John and Frank craighead. They used it while doing grizzly bear research in Yellowstone National Park. There is a craighead institute in Bozeman now. The trailer is solid, but will need some restoration. How much restoration depends on what the new owner want to do. The floor is all solid warmth no soft spots. It has a steel frame with steel floor supports. No rust. Walls and roof are solid. Supposedly these roofs are very strong and you can walk on top of it. The interior will need some work to be usable, and more work to be nice. The ceiling panels are mostly usable, but have sagged down. I'm sure they'll at least need to come down, and possibly replaced. The cabinetry is all in good shape throughout the trailer. It will need some kind of flooring. The vintage heater may work. I didnt try it. The propane wall heater works, and heats the whole thing in the winter. The pics tell the story. It pull nice. 1979 Fiberstream - Fiber Stream, 16 feet long Purchased in 2002 Interior had issues, so inside was completely stripped bare. New interior fabricated from Rosewood with brushed aluminium trim work. Modifications made: Solar Pannel added to roof. Curved bathroom door. Curved pantry storage next to Fridge. Passthru between stove and seating area slightly enlarged by 2 inches. Bathroom shower floor dropped 2" for taller people's comfort. And of course the entire interior was insulated and then covered in hardwoods. So, a 1979 trailer with 1979 appliances and a 2004 interior.

This little Scotty is currently on my property as an Airbnb / hipcamp. Everything is amazing on this little camper. It originally had two small beds and a table in the middle we converted it to a king size bed which can simply be put back to the way that it was. We have the original table as well which we put under the king size bed for future needs. If someone wanted to convert it back. This unit does not have a sink we use a dish pan as that's how it was when we got it. It has a refrigerator. It has a title. And is currently registered ready to pull. I'll be honest, I'm not the most knowledgeable member of the canned ham community, but I've done a lot of looking, and I haven't been able to find even a photo online of another Lovebird like this one, with the loft that extends over the front. So it's got to be rare! She's all original, birch paneled interior, ice box, water tank for running water in the sink, working propane stove, electrical hook ups, closet, lots of cabinet space, and dining table that converts into a roomy bed. I even have the original hammock that it came with, for additional sleeping space. Lots of windows, and it gets beautiful warm light inside. I even have the black and yellow vintage license plate as well. Slight wear and tear on linoleum floor (easily fixed), interior very well kept but consistent with a 64 year old camper. No bad odors, no leaks, no damp, no pets, never smoked in. Faded patina on exterior, but solid body, strong hitch, tows well; I've hauled it all around California with a little old stick shift pick up truck with never a problem. Perfect for a restore or glow up. Or just enjoy it as the time capsule it is! It's cute as hell, really a unique little camper with the cozy loft in it. This 1955 Airstream Overlander/Cruiser has a serial number of 6589, built in California. It features the distinctive “whale Tail” rear end and is supported by a twin axle with newish wheels. The body is in excellent shape, with only one small depression in the rear end which can be popped back out. The frame is straight and solid, and the trailer has been recently pulled over 6000 miles coast to coast (and back), so it’s ready to be towed to its new home. • While both inner and outer shells are in great shape, the outer shell leaks in heavy rain. This means it will require a complete rebuild to be weather ready and usable as an RV. • Many original features, including the Dixie stove, the gas lamp, a Marvel fridge (compressor works, but fridge needs reconditioning), kitchen sink and counters, and the closet area with the fridge cutout. The rear full bed is a rare layout, usually it’s two twins or a bathroom in the back. • New construction was started in the interior before leaks were understood. New parts installed include new black and grey waste tanks as well as 70 gallons of potable water tanks under the framed out front dinette area. The kitchen was plumbed with an on-demand hot water heater and a shore water inlet. The parts are brand new and can be repurposed or reinstalled when rebuild is complete. • The axles and brakes are original, and while this trailer pulls nicely, the brakes are non-functional.
