This sweet little camper became a part of our family after I suffered from a miscarriage about 8 year ago. My husband drove me up to Gatlinburg, TN and spent money that we didn't have to help me recover from the extreme sadness I was feeling... When we pulled in their driveway and I saw it, I was charmed by the shape but repulsed by the creamy brown and red spray paint job. It had been used as a hunting lodge and was in need of some love to get it camp-worthy. So I got busy cleaning, painting, sewing and healing. My husband replaced the top panel as it had a slow leak from the roof vent. He sealed the top and it is water tight. We camped in it about a dozen times or so before we found our 1977 VW Westfalia camper bus. We exclusively camp in the VW now (with our two sweet kiddos) and just know that there is someone out there that can give this amazing little camper the time and talent that we lack. The pictures should speak for themselves. The stove works (but we always cooked outside), the fridge never seemed cold enough to keep food safe to me, but you will have to test it yourself. No bathroom. It needs wiring for the original tail-lights. If I were to buy it and had talent, this is what I would do immediately:
-tail light wiring
-fix 2 windows
-fix vinyl on dining bench (seam separation)
-add screen to roof vent
-strip and polish the remaining window trim (like original)
-call a bunch of places in the smokies and make reservations to show off this amazing campe
