1965 Silverstreak
Better known as “Large Marge”

The Silver Streak has a aluminum outer skin, aluminum studs and even the interior “paneling” is aluminum. Everything is flush riveted, including the aluminum underbelly. The walls, roof and floor are thickly insulated, making this one of the original “4-season” trailers. Both Silver Streak and Airstream can trace their lineage back to the Curtis Wright aircraft factory. It seems to be a commonly held opinion that Airstream trailers may look better, but Silver Streak trailers are built better. We cleaned up the interior, and verified the power converter and interior lights work working with solar. Amazingly, the fridge got cold when we turned it on (using gas) and the water compressor sounded normal. I tow her with my dodge durango with no issues. If you desire a truly unique vintage trailer, it is unlikely you will find an unmolested unit in better shape. It is 54 years old, and it needs a couple items, but if you are one of those “clean slate” people this is the unit for you. Thanks for looking!!
