This vintage 1951 Royal Spartanette is one of the most livable trailers of any period of trailer design, including Airstream. The flat ceiling/roof alone adds headroom and a feeling of spaciousness not found in other trailers. With the addition of warm wood tones provided by the blond maple wall and ceiling surfaces; the period appliances (stove, frig, heater); design details (original formica, light fixtures, headboard, cabinet pulls, bathroom color, vivid periodl carpet)...all contribute to a sense of traveling back in time to another era, living the lux lfe on the road...My Spartanette is in great shape ready to inhabit. The body is straight except for some damage to the rear door around the window frame.; a tail light is missing; one of the door handles is broken (after market available); and the bottom needs to be re-insulated and repaneled (although not a pressing renovation). Recent upgrades include a complete acid wash of the exterior (looks like new) and new tires and special rims...she is ready to role for next owner. The interior is in beautiful condition. I added a custom platform couch/bed with two back bolsters and two deep storage drawers; and a Rennai propane heater with thermostat that works great.
Trailer is now in SoCal and has a place hold with an awesome resto outfit ready to upgrade to next owners specifications. Most resto companies have a one year waiting list...
