More Information
1958 “Trail-A-Long House Trailer.” Purchased ’71, last registered ‘80. Used as storage for decades. Was a refuge for snakes, mice, and squirrels. (See pictures).Belonged to my Uncle. I was going to rehab it, but my spouse hates having it in our driveway. So, I’m keeping the spouse.
Needs full restoration - has original stove, ice box, cabinets, drawers, hardware, gas lighting, other original shelving and features. Glass in windows is intact. The inside will need to be gutted. The floor will need to be replaced. Termites have eaten away at the interior paneling. Snakeskins are ample.
Shell appears solid and will need only minor repairs. There are a few minor dings. There are 1-2 small lacerations less than 1.5 inches --all hull-breaches are in the pictures. There is some rust staining from door hinges and screws that were not weatherproof.
No keys. Main door broken for access. Other compartments remain locked and intact. Easy fix for locksmith. Axle has rust on it, but It was towed to my house. Flatbed transport recommended.
Title in my deceased Uncle’s name (a few steps to go with title transfer).
Photos show trailer pre-excavation. and in current state.
Trailers like this are in short supply and high demand! Will need $2000-$3000 worth of work. Excellent profit margin when rehabbed.
If you like projects, this will be a satisfying one.
