Hi, I'm posting it as 'rough', but it is really solid. Just the exterior looks shabby.
A VERY cool home built car top carrier for all the gear you don't want to crowd your vintage trailer with. 48" wide. 16" high. 87" long
This is a way boss project that I'm just not getting to, and it deserves to be loved, and brought back into view for a loving public.
Solidly constructed and signed by the maker, I imagine from plans from Popular Mechanics or one of their peers.

For restoration, I would photo document all the original stickers, then strip or blast the paint with nut shell blast media. gently. EBay has brought out everyone's vintage goodies, so originals of the originals are available to replace them, and enterprising folks are reproducing them as well.

Then a repaint. Classic forest green still works, though two tone is always a big maybe!

My plan was to include "The Kimmell Family On The Road!" painted in reverse on the curved front face, so folks looking in the mirror could read it, and some sort of fun farewell words with a hand in Western gauntlet waving goodbye, written on the back in regular direction. We have a GREAT classic sign painter here in Philadelphia, and instead of doing it in vinyl letters, the sign painters loving touch makes such a righteous difference.

I have $200 into it, and that is all I need to get out of it, BUT... I would ask that it goes to a new owner who WILL restore it and bring it out to be adored by all.
