DESCRIPTION:We had such a great time last year decided to do it one more year at Chenango Valley State Park. Laid back group campout. Make your own reservations but so that we don’t all try for the same site I will start a post for everyone to pick their site. . I will probably do a week because I want to play golf. This is a great park and the loop we camp in Pine bluff is an excellent spot. that’s a little more secluded for our group. I am going to look into renting the pavilion above Pine bluff for a potluck brunch. Or I may find out if I can put a 10×20 carport up in the grassy area and get in a couple extra picnic tables for that which would be easier.

It is time to start thinking about registration for the rally\, which will start Tuesday Jan. 16\, 2024. The campground rates like everything else has increased. So the rally fee is $120 this year which includes 3 nights camping\, water & electric\, and coffee\, donuts\, etc.I have attached the registration form and instructions below. Just print out a copy\, fill it out\, and mail it with payment. Start mailing your forms on Tuesday Jan. 16th. Once full\, I will start a wait list. We usually fill up quickly\, and I hope we do this year.This is plenty of notice for our snowbirds. No special exceptions\, everyone is subject to the same rules.

Everyone that comes loves it. We provide power for everyone along with showers. There are bathrooms throughout the park. We are 500 feet from the town . There you will find restaurants and antique stores. This is a family oriented rally. Bring your kids or grandkids we will keep them busy all week. We have street bowling\, s’mores night\, the amazing race and we can’t forget the pie eating contest for kids. We also have open mic and karaoke. We also have movie night. And yes you can setup a tent behind your trailer for the kids. We call this the family rally!

DESCRIPTION:Somernites Cruise and General Burnside Island State Park are proud to announce the 8th Annual “Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper Rally”!! September 26th-29th\, 2024 at General Burnside Island State Park!! This was a new location for us last year and it was great!! We are excited to be back there!! \n\n\n\nLast years rally saw over 40 vintage campers and was a great success and we are excited for this years event!! \n\n\n\nThurs Sept 26th is check in day. The day is open for setup and to explore the area (and we have a lot to see including Cumberland Falls\, Big South Fork scenic Railway\, Historic Mill Springs Grist Mill\, Mill Springs Civil War Battlefield\, Haney’s Appledale Farms\, etc.) all within a 10 minute to 45 minute drive of the campground. \n\n\n\nFriday Sept 27th is when we have open house scheduled from 2:30 to 5:30. We will be promoting the open house to anyone in our community who may want to come see the campers so bring all your vintage camping supplies\, coolers\, etc.!! You can even set up and sell your goods if you want to!! There is a $10 fee that the Park has to charge if you want to sell items. \n\n\n\nSaturday September 28th is the Somernites Cruise event in historic downtown Somerset (again about 10 minutes from the campground). Gates open at 12:00 (noon). We would like to have about 7-10 really nice vintage campers along with vintage tow vehicles to come display downtown (we understand that means you have to break down and set up again downtown). Our September show is always one of our largest of the year!! We usually have between 1\,000 -1\,500 classic/collector cars & trucks at our September show. If campers prefer not to attend the Somernites Cruise event and would rather explore the community and other attractions that’s OK too. Again\, all Somernites Cruise events are free. Saturday night we will have a pot-luck dinner for all campers. More details will be announced as we get closer to the event!! \n\n\n\nGeneral Burnside Island State Park is offering a 15% discount per night!! We appreciate them working with us!! We currently have 60 campsites blocked off so make your reservations early to ensure you get a site!! Reservations can be made by calling the Campground office at 606-561-3625 or the business office at 606-561-4104. Be sure to tell them that you are booking for the “Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper Rally” to get the discounted rate!! You must call to book one of the reserved sites.
