SUMMARY:7th Annual Shadow of the Bear Rally
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited for TCT’s 2023 Shadow Of The Bear Rally at Orchard Beach State Park.  The park and Tin Can Tourists have been friends for over a century.  Last year was wonderful\, we had such a good time!  Many of our campsites have a view of Lake Michigan. As we sat at our campsites\, enjoying each others company\, we watched the eagles soar\, riding on the thermals over the lake.  It was so cool!  We enjoyed taking our meals in the moved and refreshed Pavilion.  The size of the Pavilion will accommodate all of us – as many of us as are in attendance can enjoy our meals together.  Because the local area is so beautiful\, our agenda allows for lots of “touristing” time.  The park’s rangers have recommended a block of sites for our gathering. They are highlighted in white on the site map at the end of this letter. Please note:  The sites highlighted offer the best view of the lake and mature trees providing ample shade.    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSITES CAN BE RESERVED ONLINE:  https://midnrreservations.com/home \n\n\n\nAGENDA: \n\n\n\nTHURSDAY: \n\n\n\nMorning:  Koffee & Kibitzing – Host Site           \n\n\n\nMorning – 4:00pm:  Arrive & Set Up/Then Sign In/Site TBD         \n\n\n\n5:00pm:  Meet & Greet Dinner at a restaurant TBA \n\n\n\nEvening:  Campfire & Conversations – Site# TBD \n\n\n\nFRIDAY: \n\n\n\n7:30am:  Koffee & Kibitzing – The Pavilion \n\n\n\n8:00am:  Breakfast Pitch In – The Pavilion \n\n\n\nMorning/Afternoon: Free Ranging the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore\, Manistee\, and Leelanau Peninsula \n\n\n\n6:00pm:  Dinner – Pot Luck – The Pavilion \n\n\n\nEvening:  Campfire & Conversations – Site# TBD \n\n\n\nSATURDAY: \n\n\n\n7:30am:  Koffee & Kibitzing – The Pavilion \n\n\n\n8:00am:  Breakfast Pitch In – The Pavilion  \n\n\n\nMorning/Afternoon: Free Ranging the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore\, Manistee\, and Leelanau Peninsula \n\n\n\n6:00pm:  Dinner – Pot Luck – The Pavilion                                \n\n\n\nEvening:  Campfire & Conversations – Site# TBD \n\n\n\nSUNDAY \n\n\n\n8:00am:  Koffee & Kibitzing – Host site             \n\n\n\n9:00am:  Farewells and Best Wishes for Safe \n\n\n\nSUNDAY (continued) \n\n\n\nFor the “Hell No We Won’t Goers:” \n\n\n\n5:00:   Dinner at a local restaurant TBA (rain or shine) \n\n\n\n7:41pm:   Sunset Manistee beach (weather permitting) \n\n\n\nEvening:  Campfire & Conversations – Site# TBA \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT NOTES:  \n\n\n\nRally Fee: $45  Please mail a check ASAP toRebecca Shrode \n\n\n\n19019 Waite Blvd. \n\n\n\nSouth Bend\, IN 46637 \n\n\n\n\nChecks are best and need to arrive in our mailbox by Saturday September 9th.\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can also send us your rally fee via PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/us/home).  Our PayPal addy is ContactUs@BrookRode.com. SUMMARY:8th Annual Audrey's Jingle in July 2023
DESCRIPTION:Vintage Trailer Rallies of the Southeast is pleased to announce after a one year hiatus to North Carolina Audrey’s Jingle in July is returning to Sun Outdoors\, formerly River Plantation in Sevierville / Pigeon Forge Tennessee! This event will be bigger and better than ever before with great entertainment\, fun and games! Bigger and better prizes\, raffles and auction items! Updates will be posted in the discussion section on this event page! \nDO NOT CALL THE CAMPGROUND DIRECTLY FOR RESERVATIONS OR RESERVE ONLINE! THEY MUST BE DONE BY CALLING THE NUMBER LISTED BELOW! \nWhy is our event named Audrey’s Jingle in July one might ask. Well here is a snippet of her story:\nAudrey was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma when she was 11 months old. After a strong two year battle with the disease\, she went into remission and has remained there for over 12 years now! At our first event Audrey was asked by Children’s Hospital to stop by the event and check it out. It turned out that she was leaving for the camp we supported at the time the next day. It was also her first year to attend and she was very excited. Audrey’s smile made all of us who met her\, truly realize what a difference we make with our Charity Open Houses. Audrey’s mother told us that the charity we were supporting would be helping over 50 sick children attend camp for a week. After touring the vintage trailers and meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus Audrey left the campground but she left with us a desire to strive to help others as well as the most genuine smile one has ever seen! Audrey now has a vintage Shasta in her possession of her very own that she named Jingle and joins us at our Jingle rally each year. She has also become quite the celebrity as she has met and sang with Dolly\, got a shout out from Marie Osmond\, does local commercials\, is an Ambassador for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and 2019 National Champion for The Children’s Miracle Network! \nOur open house funds now support Evergreen Elves of Sevier County. This group founded by Brooke Ownby and Audrey’s Mom Krista supply Christmas trees to be decorated by volunteers to be given out to the sick and needy children in Sevier County as well as Santa Buckets to homebound seniors and those in the nursing home. \nWe have raised nearly $15\,000 at this event for charity in the past 7 years. and are hoping to break $18\,000 in 2023.\nWe will be expanding the event to include more activities and events. We will have an open house on Saturday. We will have a breakfast on Saturday morning provided by a local scouting group as a fund raiser for them at your cost (around $5 per person) and a on site food truck on Saturday evening (your cost). There will be entertainment\, campfires and games as well as prize giveaways\, raffles and an auction. We will also do a Dirty Santa gift exchange for those wanting to participate as well. The campground as well will be tying in Christmas related events for the entire event including a Christmas Parade. Please respond on this event page by clicking the going button if you plan to attend. They are holding 40 sites for us at this time. You will call Lisa at number listed below to make your reservations.
