SUMMARY:2026 6th Annual Lumberjack Rally at Mitchell State Park
DESCRIPTION:The Lumberjack Rally celebrates the timber industry that settled the Cadillac area\, and is held the second weekend in June each year (Thursday to Sunday).  The theme is always Lumberjack and features all things red and black plaid!  You MUST be an active Tin Can Tourist to participate.  A $10 rally fee will be charged to help cover the cost of coffee\, treats\, and fun! In 2026\, the Lumberjack Rally Open House (11-2 on Saturday) will be held in conjunction with a new “Classics on the Canal” event featuring vintage boats and family-friendly activities in the adjacent areas. \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\nTBD \n\n\n\nRegistration Process\n\n\n\nThe group hold has expired\, please make your site reservations through the Michigan State Park Reservation system: \n\n\n\n https://midnrreservations.com \n\n\n\nOnce you have a campsite\, please email Amy Smith at smithgirlzmom@gmail.com and provide your site number\, names of ALL participants on your site and the make and year of your trailer. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease join the rally Facebook group questions or additional information: \n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/451347034310090 \n\n\n\nAttendees \n\n\n\nTBD \n\n\n\nRally fee will be $10 to help cover the pavilion costs and the costs of coffee/treats and supplies that we will bring. SUMMARY:2025 5th Annual Lumberjack Rally at Mitchell State Park
DESCRIPTION:This is a Tin Can Tourists official event and you must be a member of the club to use the group hold and attend the event. Join the club here: TCT Membership – Tin Can Tourists \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, the campground blocked off 50 sites for us to group closer together. We are getting 64 sites for 2025\, you can see which sites are park of the group hold below. The park loves having us and are really supportive of the event\, including the friends of the park who help sponsor the musical performance on Friday night. \n\n\n\nThis event is always held the 2nd full weekend of June which can sometimes end on Father’s day.  \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\nTrailer Open House is Saturday June 14th from Noon to 3pm and the public is invited to tour the trailers that are open! \n\n\n\n2025 Lumberjack RallyDownload\n\n\n\nRegistration Process\n\n\n\n2025 Lumberjack Rally Registration Instructions: \n\n\n\nUse the Michigan State Park Reservation website (https://midnrreservations.com) or call them. Make sure you log into the website and the first page will have a link “Reserve Group Hold”\, click on it and use “TinCan2025” – this will take you to the campground and show you all of the sites blocked off for us. Reserve your site of your choice and then send an email to tct1919@gmail.com to let us know what site you reserved! TWO SIMPLE STEPS\, don’t forget the last one!   \n\n\n\nYou must be a TCT Member to attend this event. Any questions\, please ask. \n\n\n\nThis is a casual weekend and open house (12-3pm) to get introduced to the state park and local community. In 2022\, they are setting aside 40 sites for us to group closer together. The park loved having us and were really supportive of the event. \n\n\n\nRegistration Process\n\n\n\nStep 1) Get you camp site using the Michigan State Park Reservation System (https://www.midnrreservations.com/) or by calling 1-800-447-2757 (1-800-44PARKS) \n\n\n\nThe group hold code expired at the end of February – so now you’ll need to just get a site the old fashioned way and try to get as close as possible to the group. DESCRIPTION:We are going to hope for the best with the pandemic and try this again in 2021. \n\n\n\nRegistration Process\n\n\n\nStep 1) Get you camp site using the Michigan State Park Reservation System (https://www.midnrreservations.com/) or by calling 1-800-447-2757 (1-800-44PARKS) \n\n\n\n136 – Host: Terry and Michelle Bone \n\n\n\nJust get a site nearby to join us – see below where we are all camping at \n\n\n\nStep 2) RSVP that your attending by emailing tct1919@gmail.com and let us know what campsite you ended up with – we’d like to know how many are coming for the welcome packets and coffee/treat planning! \n\n\n\nThis is a casual weekend and open house to get introduced to the state park and local community.  \n\n\n\nRally fee will be $10 to help cover the pavillion costs and the costs of coffee/treats and supplies that we will bring. Register for cornhole tournament – individuals will be randomly paired with other TCT members.\n\n\n\nFriday\n\n\n\n2pm – Cornhole Tournament – prizes for the winning team!6pm – After dinner cocktail hour. Bring a beverage and we will have snacks at the pavilion. Find a spot for the musical program.7pm – Musical program Friday night\, June 11 at 7:00.  Pam Bowman plays the hammered dulcimer and will be accompanied by John Thompson on the guitar.  Pam is well known in the area and across the state.  The program will be outside at the pavilion at the visitors’ center.  Bring a chair or blanket.
