Hi, We are Baron and Teri LeBlanc. We were up on the hill at the fall 2010 rally, not technically members then, we weren't even sure we were going to make it. We only had 1st and 2nd gear in the transmission at the time. 35 mph all the way…. We are now members…Yeh! and just had a great time at the spring 2011 rally! Our rig is a 1955 Pontiac Chieftain station wagon that was cut behind the front doors and a homebuilt one off camper built on the back. It retains the stock chassis and wheelbase. The camper portion adds about 2 1/2 feet to the overall length. The camper is about 7 feet wide which actually helps make the inside roomier than it looks from the outside. We assume this conversion was done sometime in the late 1960's. It would be wonderful to run into somebody who knows the history of this unique vehicle. We purchased it in the fall of 2009. It was on craigslist at a home in waterford MI. Purchase price was $400.00. The license plate that was in the back window was last registered in 1992. It did not have an engine or transmission. I installed a Ford 302 windsor and AOD transmission to get it on the road and useable. This drivetrain will stay for now as we fix the rest of it up. The rear wall had to be completely rebuilt due to water damage. The camper interior is most of the way complete. We named it the “Starlite Lounge”. The interior reflects this as it is our rendition of a 50's coctail lounge. A/C is coming soon! We will be at the 2011 fall rally and hope to meet whomever is reading this. That is the best part about TCT, meeting so many new friends from all walks of life and from places near and far! We wish all fun and SAFE travels!

4/23/2012 Hi all, We had a great time at the fall 2011 Rally. What a party in the tent! and at The Starlite Lounge afterward! We camped for a week last August in Port Austin. Had some overheating issues but other then that it was wonderful. A/C has been installed and works great! Working hard on some additions for the campsite and "friday nite lights". Come see us at the Spring Annual Rally next month. We are excited about attending again. Happy travels!
