Dental Care Tips If you have ever suffered from a painful toothache, or had a cavity, you know how important it is to care for your teeth. There is more to proper dental care than just brushing and flossing, though. To really take good care of your teeth, you need to use the following advice. Brushing your teeth properly is important for your overall mouth health. When brushing your teeth, use a vertical motion on the outside of your teeth and a horizontal motion on the inner parts of your teeth. Concentrate your efforts by brushing each tooth for approximately fifteen seconds to help ensure proper cleaning. Keep toothbrushes as clean as you can. After you have brushed your teeth, your brush should be thoroughly rinsed and dried. Toothbrush holders are a great way to keep your toothbrush sanitary. You should never allow your toothbrush to remain in a closed-in container, as an enclosed space will promote bacterial growth. As soon as your toothbrush begins to show signs of wear, replace it promptly.[Treatment for receding gums] While flossing is very important, make sure you do it gently. If you floss too hard, you can cause gum pain, irritation, swelling, and bleeding to occur. To get rid of plaque without harming your mouth, gently slide the floss back and forth in between your teeth. Follow the curves of each tooth in an up and down motion. You should not use over the counter whitening treatments if you have problems such as gum disease, tooth decay or cavities. These whitening treatments contain some very strong chemicals that could cause a lot of pain and damage if you apply them over damaged teeth or if they come in content with diseased gums. If you want to increase the whiteness of your teeth, you should avoid certain drinks that are known for staining teeth. You will not be successful if you don't alter your diet.[Treatment for receding gums] To maintain your great-looking smile, you should make some changes in your lifestyle. If brushing makes your mouth bleed, see a dentist. It is possible that it could be a sign of gum disease or simply that your brush is not right. Talk to your dentist for advice. Now that you know more about dental care, it is time to start putting this advice to the test. Incorporate these tips into your daily routine so that you can have a bright, white smile for years to come. With this advice, you can look forward to visiting the dentist again. ==== Member Pages ==== This is intended to allow Tin Can Tourist Members create a personalized page of their trailers and tow vehicles.
