New Member Interview with Bob & Sue Soave

Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?

Well first question – We were looking for something not to expensive and I have always liked old wood interior of the old Campers and I am a self described handy person good at hiding my tracks. We ran across this 1964 camper for $900 needed a little  tlc (haha) so we purchased it very foolish move! As you will see .it is not to original far from it I used as much as I could like cabinet doors we used 3 old scrap camper’s for parts  I built it for two people traveling It has hot cold water shower tub and gas electric fridge and holding  tanks

What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?

We started camping in early mid 70s first in a tent My wife Sue and I first camper was a 1974 Chevy van ,it also was my day driver you know a love and peace van shag carpet and all  ,then we found a 1960 GMC bread truck and built a camper  used it for several years till I found a burned interior 1973 GMC  26 ft and now our 1964 can ham.

What do you tow with?

We have a toyota tacoma for towing I do like new and dependable,  I  have a soft spot for old cars I have had many from the 30s on up though.
