Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?
I’ve always loved anything mid-century: music, movies, fashion, interiors, architecture, culture. Both my home and my salon is decorated in the mid-century modern esthetic. During the pandemic, just like many other people, I thought about downsizing and simplifying. I took my nest egg and bought a plot of land In Berkeley Springs, WV to semi-retire to and get back to nature. I needed a temporary shelter, and stumbled upon a 1970 Skyline by Fan Travel online located in Ohio. I fell down the rabbit hole of vintage trailers, and was absolutely hooked! A few months later I purchased a second trailer, a 1958 Yellowstone.
What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?
I own a 1970 Skyline by Fan Travel, and a 1958 Yellowstone.
I plan to get an Airstream or Spartan by the end of the year.
What do you tow with?
2017 Audi Q7
Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?
I have not attended a rally yet.
Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?
I wanted to learn more about vintage trailers, and it’s a great resource.
What are your camping plans for this year?
I am purchasing one more vintage trailer, hopefully something a little larger, like a Spartan or Airstream, and then I will have my own vintage trailer camp for friends and family to come out and stay in Berkeley Springs. Next year I would like to list it on HipCamp for others to enjoy the experience, plus have another start-up business under my entrepreneurial belt!
