New Member Interview with Laine Tackett

Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?

I’ve always been a fan of vintage EVERYTHING, especially vintage 1950’s and 1960’s.  I guess that’s because I grew up in this era.  So, having a vintage trailer just came naturally.  However, although I love the true vintage trailers, I wanted some of the advantages of a “newer” trailer.  That’s why we purchased the Gulfstream model with the vintage “look”, but with all of the modern conveniences.

What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?

We have had two trailers.  The first was a 2017 Gulfstream Vista 17RWD (Lucille).  Unfortunately, hurricane Ian totaled her just three months after we bought her. We now have a 2022 Gulfstream Vintage 19ERD (Mabel), that we bought about three months ago. We absolutely love her!  She is the turquoise color.  She IS my dream trailer!  We have been having so much fun decorating her in a vintage style.

What do you tow with?

Our tow vehicle is a 2015 Dodge Durango SUV.

Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?

We have not attended a rally, YET, but I can’t wait to go to one.  That is one of the main reasons I joined TCT.  So, you WILL be seeing us soon!

Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?

See the previous answer!

What are your camping plans for this year?

Our plans for this year are to visit as many Florida state parks as possible and to attend at least one TCT Florida rally.
