The TCT Toy Town Rally in East Aurora NY had a very successful 2 nd year. We had 27 rigs coming from as far away as Georgia. Many were repeat attendees from last year, some with different trailers this time. Thursday night a group dinner was accompanied by a new member induction ceremony where the TCT moto, secret handshake, password, and song were shared with 8 new members who were first time rally attendees.
On Friday many participated in a group tour of the nearby Roycroft campus, a hub of the Arts & Crafts movement in the early 20 th century about the same time that the Tin Can Tourists originally organized. The Open House on Saturday got off to a good start, but a torrential thunderstorm blew through early dampening the attendees and giving many the opportunity to learn the finer techniques of holding poles and dumping water from vintage awnings to keep them from collapsing. Luckily after about 45 minutes the blue sky and sun returned.
Saturday night featured another group dinner, an ice cream social, and live music outside under a pavilion. Sunday many packed up to head home, however a group of 6 rigs pulled out together in multi-day caravan headed to the next weekends rally and the induction of Forrest & Jeri Bone into the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN.
