New TCT Ambassadors

The Tin Can Tourists are proud to announce two new TCT Ambassadors who will cover the state of North Carolina.

The role of an Ambassador is to be the public face of the Tin Can Tourists. Their primary duties include creating awareness of the club, membership and rally opportunities within their state region. Interacting with TCT members to listen to their feedback and provide improvement opportunities to TCT Regional representatives and leadership. It is the TCT’s eventual goal to have two independent (Two singles or two couples) ambassadors per state.

North Carolina Ambassadors (Eastern): Richard & Janice Duryea

Hello from Erwin NC we are Richard & Janice Duryea and this is our 1973 airstream the Eagle. A little about us I retired from the Air Force in 1993 and then was an electrician for 21 years retiring in 2014. Janice and I met in 2020 and were married in 2022. Janice had the airstream but it had set for 10 years so we got busy and got it back on the road and started camping in it. We discovered vintage camping rallies and attended our first event. We joined Smoky Mountain Vintage Campers and met a lot of folks with a passion for vintage campers it eventually let us to Tin Can Tourists. We look forward to hosting rallies and meeting new folks from North Carolina. We’ll see you down the road safe travels and God bless

North Carolina Ambassadors (Western): Aaron & Toni Britts

Email: aaronlconc@gmail.com

Hello from beautiful western NC

We are the Britts. My name is Aaron and my awesome wife is Toni. We reside in Rutherford County, NC We relocated here from central Oregon in 2017. We have passion for all things vintage, so it would be no surprise to run into us snooping around some antique or thrift stores. Toni has an artist flare when it comes to restoring/repurposing vintage furniture she is also a talented seamstress. I have been a carpenter/cabinet maker most of my life. Together we have been bit by the bug to rescue and restore vintage campers. Our current stable includes: 1965 Franklin 16’

1959 truck camper, and a 1974 Shasta compact. I’m nearly certain there will be more to come!! For some reason we find it difficult to part with any of them. We love being a part of the vintage trailer family and plan to continue enjoying this great hobby with you as long as we’re able. See ya’ down the dusty trail. God Bless.

  1. Hi everyone and welcome. Gail and Kent here from Troy, New Hampshire. We joined TCT in 2022 and have been restoring our 1968 Utopia Panoramic 17.5 (RB), still have to get her road worthy, we camp on our property for now. Can’t wait to get our “Joy” to her first TCT Rally! We wish there were more rallies here, we did go to the Lost River Campground one in 2024, it was their first and it rained, but we went to see the 6 vintage campers that were there, what a blast, great folks!
