The inaugural TCT Antique Alley Rally was held on July 30, 2020 – August 2, 2020 at the Cider House Campground in Bouckville, NY. Hosting the event was Beth and Dave Holcomb from nearby Hamilton, NY. A total of 27 rigs attended the rally ranging from a 1932 Kozy Kamp tent trailer to a 2021 Grand Design Transcend 247BH – 89 years of camping history!
The rally kicked off on Thursday night with pizza served by the hosts (no self-serve due to COVID-19!) and social distancing dining in the campground’s spacious pavilion.
Friday was a free day to visit the many antique stores that were within a short walk or drive from the campground. Other local offerings included hiking, fishing and complimentary golf at the Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, NY.
Saturday afternoon was spent touring the trailers at the rally and trying to stay cool on one of, if not the hottest days of summer so far! Dave Holcomb provided an educational presentation on vintage Coleman lanterns and stoves to interested rally attendees, bringing many items from his own personal collection for demonstrations. A delicious BBQ dinner from Ray Brothers BBQ in Bouckville, NY was served by the hosts and afterwards, favorite local band Twisted Dylan performed outside under the stars
for the group.
On Sunday morning everyone enjoyed fresh baked donuts and breakfast pastries from Flour & Salt Bakery in Hamilton, NY before packing up and saying goodbye. The campground hosted an antique market on the property and encouraged late check out so everyone could do some last-minute shopping before heading home.
A HUGE thank you to Ruth and Jim, the owners of the Cider House Campground for going above and beyond to make this rally possible! The facilities were immaculate… cleaned and sanitized constantly for
everyone’s peace of mind. Also, thanks to the just under 50 rally attendees (we didn’t exceed the NYS 50 person gathering limit!) who wore their masks, social distanced and made the rally so enjoyable to host!
See you next year!!!!!
