Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?
I was camping for some time and my son, and I went to Sertoma to see if there was live music and we stumbled upon the jamboree. this has been at least 8 to 10 years ago.
What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?
I purchased a 1969 KIT Companion and quickly realized that I could not do it justice, so I sold it. I had remarried, and my wife Hennita liked the Retro look, and we purchased our current camper. A 2018 riverside retro 199fks. I think a dream camper, a renovated older model airstream.
What do you tow with?
We tow with a 2015 RAM 1500 quadcab with the 5.7 hemi.
Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?
So far, we have attended only one rally at Sertoma, I believe it was in 2019. Vintage trailers, cars and their owners. I have to admit even though we had a 2018 retro, we had at least 75 people want to tour our camper we were pleasantly surprised and happy to do so.
Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?
We joined in hopes to renovate a camper, but that is on hold. In the meantime, as mentioned previously, the fellow members and their projects keep us coming back.
What are your camping plans for this year?
We hope to camp as much as our schedule allows.
