New Member Interview with Layne & Linda Anderson

About 15 years ago, we purchased a very sad 1958 Oasis.  She had missing windows and water damage. She was purchased with no other purpose than to have a place for our grandsons to sleep when visiting. The grandsons used her and then grew up. The camper sat neglected until about a year and a half ago when I saw a photo of restored vintage camper. We did some research and jumped into our first restoration.

This 1958 Oasis 16F is the only camper we’ve owned. No dream campers on the horizon at this time. We are thoroughly enjoying “Patti”.  We tow her with a 1997 Dodge pickup and she follows like a dream!

This past weekend we attended our very first Vintage Camper Rally.  It was held in Lake Havasu, Arizona.  Because we are newbies, we were a little hesitant, however, we had a blast!  We were welcomed with open arms and have made some new amazing friends!

We decided to join the Tin Can Tourists because we still have so much to learn. There is a wealth of information here and everyone is so willing to help and support.

We are looking forward to attending the Spring Rally in Willard, UT and the next Rally in Lake Havasu in November. We’re also looking forward to camping at Bryce Canyon for Labor Day.

Thanks for including us in this exciting adventure!
