New Member Interview with Kathleen Beaudoin

Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?

We became vintage trailer lovers by way of our best friends who purchased a vintage Shasta and we helped them to get it road ready.

What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?

We recently purchased our first trailer this past winter. It is a total fixer upper and will be a labor of love when completed. We have a 1970 Forrester 17ft with bathroom.

What do you tow with?

Currently we have a Ford Pickup, but we hope to purchase a vehicle to match the paint scheme we hope to do on the trailer.

Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?

We attended the Fall Rally at Camp Dearborn last fall staying in our best friend’s Shasta. We had a great time and that’s when we decided to start looking for a trailer of our own. We are currently registered for this year’s Fall Rally, but it does not seem like we will be ready to tow ours so we may end up staying with them again.

Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?

We joined because it seems like a fun group and offers some great advice and ways to make connections with like-minded people.

What are your camping plans for this year?

I am truly hoping we will be able to be road ready by Spring, we want to do a Route 66 road trip next June to go see our youngest son and his new bride in Arizona. We also hope to be able to participate in the Spring Rally.
