New Member Interview with Cindy Greenlay

Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?

I joined Sisters on the Fly when I retired and went to a camp out in Quartzite, Arizona in a pop up tent trailer this past winter! It was cold, noisy and a pain to setup and take down on my own. So that coupled with seeing so many super awesome retro trailers at this event, got me interested. I met two women in particular who had renovated trailers from the bones up… so why couldn’t I? I found this fixer upper 1964 Shasta in Wawa, ontario. The seller met me in Terrace Bay, about 10 hours from my home in Manitoba… road trip!! It was in way worse shape than I thought but I was able to get the trailer with condition reflected in the price. It’s now safe and sound in my driveway!

What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?

I have only had pop up trailers. I now have as of two days ago, a 1964 Shasta Airflyte, I think!

What do you tow with?

I have a 6 cyl SUV

Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?

I would love to attend a rally but have not yet!

Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?

I’m hoping for guidance, expertise and the opportunity to get together with other retro camping peeps.

What are your camping plans for this year?

I have a couple of campsites booked locally but hope to work on fixing her up this summer.
