Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?
I’ve had an affinity for vintage campers ever since 2009 when I went to the Round Top, Texas Antique Show and they were everywhere! As an interior designer I have wanted to own and remodel one ever since.
What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?
During Covid, my husband Jeremy and I bought a 1962 Shasta and named it Tater (because we thought it looked like a baked potato)! The remodel process was a wonderful distraction in the midst of the Covid chaos. We LOVE Airstreams and see ourselves buying one in a couple of years. Another vintage fave is the Yellowstone.
What do you tow with?
2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara
Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?
We have been to Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally, Mid Central Indiana Vintage Camper Rally and a couple others locally in Indiana. We love the “Open House” tours where we can go inside all of the trailers. We also love the cast of characters we always seem to meet during the Rally weekends.
Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?
When we were looking to buy in 2021 I found TCT online and we ended up buying our Shasta from a listing in the TCT classifieds. Also, I love the wealth of knowledge and resources about Vintage Campers. We also hope to use the website and social media to sell our Shasta camper and buy another one!
Our trailer is listed for sale here: https://tincantourists.com/classified-ads/show-ad/166522/1962-shasta-airflyte-completely-restored-interior-indianapolis/indiana/trailers-for-sale/
What are your camping plans for this year?
We will camp in Indiana, Michigan, and the Ozarks.
