The Cozy Trailer & Equipment Co. was one of the first camping trailer manufacturers and certainly among the very first to feature a hard-top. Edward H. Habig of Indianapolis, IN file for US Patent 1,216,986 on June 15, 1916. The patent was granted on February 20, 1917. Manufacturing was setup in Indianapolis, IN. According to an advertisement run in June 1916 one could purchase the entire trailer outfit f.o.b. for $165. The trailer weighed 600 lbs fully equipped with a removable ice box and cabinets.
