Tin Can Tourists Hall of Famer Dan Hershberger is presenting on Wednesday of the conference – Early Motor Camping on the Lincoln Highway

Daniel is a roadside historian involved in research and documentation of the American roadside for over four decades. He has taught classes at colleges and universities and makes presentations all across the country.  At one time Daniel was President of the Society for Commercial Archeology, an organization devoted to cultural landscapes of America. He was inducted to the Tin Can Tourists’ Hall of Fame in 2010. 
His highly visual presentation will focus on:
              + An alternative to hotels through motor camping—a new industry
               + Equipment for the automobilist- camper 1910-1930
               + Where did they camp? 
               + How did they find their way?

  1. Glad to see a TCT HOFer on the presentation list. These historical byways are fun to study, experience and celebrate.

    I so well remember taking part in a portion of the TCT’s celebration/caravan of the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway.
