2025 5th Annual Lumberjack Rally at Mitchell State Park

June 12 @ 8:00 AM June 15 @ 5:00 PM EDT

This is a Tin Can Tourists official event and you must be a member of the club to use the group hold and attend the event. Join the club here: TCT Membership – Tin Can Tourists

In 2024, the campground blocked off 50 sites for us to group closer together. We are getting 64 sites for 2025, you can see which sites are park of the group hold below. The park loves having us and are really supportive of the event, including the friends of the park who help sponsor the musical performance on Friday night.

This event is always held the 2nd full weekend of June which can sometimes end on Father’s day.

Registration Process

2025 Lumberjack Rally Registration Instructions:

Use the Michigan State Park Reservation website (https://midnrreservations.com) or call them. Make sure you log into the website and the first page will have a link “Reserve Group Hold”, click on it and use “TinCan2025” – this will take you to the campground and show you all of the sites blocked off for us. Reserve your site of your choice and then send an email to tct1919@gmail.com to let us know what site you reserved! TWO SIMPLE STEPS, don’t forget the last one!

You must be a TCT Member to attend this event. Any questions, please ask.

This is a casual weekend and open house (12-3pm) to get introduced to the state park and local community. We will be planning on a few group activities: Molkky Tournament, a Happy Hour, New Member initiation, and coffee will be provided. Agenda will be posted a few months out from the event.

The Friends of the Mitchell State Park are providing the musical artists Frank & Jude will be performing Friday for the Tin Can Tourists under the pavilion. They perform music from the 60’s thru the 80’s.

Here is a video of them performing a Tom Petty’s “Breakdown”:

Rally fee will be $10 to help cover the pavilion costs and the costs of coffee/treats and supplies that we will bring. We will collect the rally fee when you pick up the welcome package!

The rally theme is “Lumberjack” to honor the logging industry and the reason the canal between the two lakes was built to float the logs to the mills that were on Lake Cadillac and the nearby railroad. Lots of red plaid!

  1. is there a code to reserve and what sites numbers are reserved for us

  2. I should be getting the code soon. I expect I’ll get it next week. I won’t know the sites until then either except that we are getting 65 sites.

  3. Michigan State Parks allow pets and some have designated areas for them. It is up to you to read their rules and plan to adhere to them.

  4. Hello I don’t see site 214 on the list. Tammy and DJ Whitman. Just making sure you have us I did receive a confirmation email from you.
