TCT Route 66 Centennial Caravan
June 7 @ 8:00 AM – June 14 @ 5:00 PM EDT
The Tin Can Tourists will be celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of Route 66 by hosting two caravans that both end up in Texas. The Eastern Caravan will go from Illinois to Texas.
We are an official Route 66 Centennial event recognized by the Route 66 Centennial Planning Commission. https://route66centennial.org

EASTERN CARAVAN
We’ve reached the limit of 25 trailers/motorcoaches for the Eastern Caravan and booking of campgrounds is nearly complete. After the caravan participants have booked their sites, if anyone wants to participate along the caravan route, we will provide the campground information and they can make reservations at the same campgrounds if sites are available but that might mean a nearby campground. We will welcome all to rally with us at the final destination, which should have ample room for everyone. We will bring extra caravan merchandise that you can buy in Amarillo.
The Eastern Caravan will stop in these towns along the eastern part of Route 66:
- Sunday, June 7th – Springfield, Illinois
- Monday, June 8th – Waynesville, Missouri
- Tuesday, June 9th – Claremore, Oklahoma
- Wednesday, June 10th – Foss, Oklahoma
- Thursday, June 11th – Sunday, June 14th, Amarillo TX – https://www.visitamarillo.com/events/route-66/
- Returning home will be at your pace and up to you to schedule – you could stay down in Texas for awhile with friends from the caravan, head to a different part of the country to visit a National Park you’ve never experienced, or rush home for work!
The caravans are purposely planned to be a slow pace of 200-250 and a consistent drive each day. We will provide a list of places to stop along the route to sightsee and to take pictures.
We have room for 25 vintage trailers on the Eastern Caravan.
We also expect that TCT members may want to join us at any point in the route or join us at the final campground for the Route 66 festival in Amarillo, Texas. That would be great and totally an option.
WESTERN CARAVAN
The Western Caravan will stop in these towns along the western part of Route 66:
- Sunday, June 7th – Mother Road Museum – Barstow, California
- Monday, June 8th – Seligman, AZ
- Tuesday, June 9th – Gallup NM
- Wednesday, June 10th – Santa Rosa, NM
- Thursday, June 11th – Sunday, June 14th, Amarillo TX – https://www.visitamarillo.com/events/route-66/

REGISTRATION
You must be a TCT Member and be pulling a vintage trailer or traveling in a Vintage Motor Coach to participate in the caravan.
The caravan fee is $100 per person that will be used for caravan branded merchandise that will be provided to the attendees and for their vehicles. It will also be used to provide a meal in Amarillo at the rally.
