New Member Interview with Philip Ross

Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby?

My grandparents purchased a camper new in 1970, in the 90s my dad inherited it and our family camped in it since then. Last year i inherited it and decided to restore/renovate it. I’ve been vintage camping my whole life just didn’t know it, but I got into working on one last year.

What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?

23’ 1970 Globestar travel trailer, my first camper.

What do you tow with?
2009 F150

Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?

We plan to attend our first rally/s this year

Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?

Highly recommended by others

What are your camping plans for this year?

We just got back from a month long trip from Michigan to south Florida. Left the camper in storage down in Jacksonville and will be back to get it in April. This summer we’re planning to take it out west and plenty of shorter trips around Michigan.

  1. Wonderful history, it’s great that you have the ability to enjoy the same trailer that your family has enjoyed for over 50 years. Three generations in the same family is quite a milestone. Congrats and welcome.
