2022 Hotrod-a-Rama Recap

Submitted by Dal Smilie

Hotrod-a-Rama is a big traditional Hotrod event that has been held in a couple of locations in the Northwest over the years.  Pre 1965 Hotrods and entries have to be pre approved and pre registered.  The last two years they have added vintage trailers and their tows.

The event was held in Pendleton OR the last weekend of July.  A very supportive community in many ways.  Camping on the grass of a baseball field with electricity and showers not far off.  And air conditioned buildings not far off.  The one problem was an unusually hot period where daily highs were 111-116F!  It was a dry heat which as far as I could tell meant little.  Half of our vintage trailer registrants chose to stay home, they missed a good time but the heat was oppressive.

The jury is out on whether vintage trailer events offered as an add on to a car event are a good thing.  But lots of us are car folk also and the car folk enjoyed our open house.  But the heat!
