Ken-Craft

1965 Ken-Craft 18' Vintage Travel Trailer

Ken-Craft Fiberglass

Manufactured from 1956-75. Made by Ken-Craft Products, Inc in North Hollywood/San Fernando Valley California and Upper Sandusky, Ohio

The creator of the Kenskill Kustom Kamper, Bill Kennedy, launched Ken-Craft in mid 1955. Ken-Craft was one of the first molded fiberglass trailers. The first Ken-Craft trailers were offered in 1956 in a 18 foot and a 25′ model with no seams or joints due to the fiberglass construction. Bill choose fiberglass to reduce the weight of the trailer and it was extremely strong. The insulation properties of fiberglass are very good as well. All portions of the trailer are bonded together, and it becomes extremely watertight. Production of the 1956 models were started in April of 1955, but all units built in the second half of 1955 were designated as 1956 year models. The very first serial number for 1956 models starts at 518001 and 525001 (5 was used in place of S for ‘serial number’, and the 18 for 18′, 25 for 25′ and the last three being the production numbers)

Mid 60s models had a molded fiberglass tail section that wrapped around the rear end. It included a bump out truck – this was unique to Ken-Craft and gave them extra storage space.

In the mid-60s Ken-Craft was purchased by Midas International Corporation and the last Ken-Craft model was produced in 1975
