We started camping in a tent on our honeymoon in 1971 and have had 7or 8 various campers over the years. We’ve had at least 3 pop ups, a 5th wheel and several bumper pulls. We also have a 40 ft destination model permanently located in a lake resort community that we use for several days almost every week during the summer. We have always been travelers and also enjoy cruising and have been to over 6o countries. Needless to say, Covid brought those adventures to a screeching halt. We were looking for a new experience and the vintage possibilities caught Merilee’s eye. We bought SuzieQ, our 1970 Scotty, while we were in FL and brought her home the 1000 miles to MI towed by our GMC Acadia with stops in Stone Mountain, GA and at Lost River in Kentucky. I love the idea of a matching tow vehicle, but that kind of trip is simpler with our current suv. We were hoping to come to Hoffmaster in June, but we weren’t members yet and the park was full. I originally thought we could still attend the open house as visitors, but found out that wasn’t possible either. We’re camping locally with friends this week. We’ll be snuggled in beside their 38 ft motor home. Our membership materials just came in the mail and we’re waiting for registration to open for Camp Dearborn where we won’t stand out in the crowd!
I like to hear more about your travels. I’ve been to over 50 country’s and would be interested in comparing our life exoeriences.
You sure have a cutie. How much does she wt?
Cutie for sure! I have a ’68 Scotty and would love to see more of the inside of yours. I don’t have a potty….otherwise, she’s perfect!
