Can you tell us about how you got into the vintage trailer hobby? What type of trailers have you owned and what do you have now? What is your dream vintage trailer?
I have always loved vintage campers since I was a kid. I bought my first one in June of this year, she’s a Scotty Sportsman. One day this summer I got the idea to buy a piece of property and create a vintage campground. Since the idea first came to me, I have purchased a piece of property in the gorgeous Smoky Mountains. I have four vintage campers now, the Scotty, a 13 foot Phoenix, a 13 foot 67 Shasta Airflyte and a 16 foot 66 Shasta Airflyte. Their names are Ellie, Betsie, Mollie and Sadie respectively.
We broke ground on the campground two weeks ago and I plan to open with Southern Belles Glamping, A vintage trailer camping experience in the smoky mountains six trailers in the Spring of 2023. The campground is called Southern Belles Glamping, A vintage trailer camping experience in the Smoky Mountains.
What do you tow with?
Jaguar Fpace
Do you attend rallies and what do you like the most about attending a rally?
I haven’t been to one yet but I am dying to go!
Why did you decide to join the Tin Can Tourists?
I decided to join Tin Can Tourists because I find the background of the organization fascinating. That, coupled with what seems like endless resources on the site made it a no brainer.
What are your camping plans for this year?
I’ll be setting up the camp and personally staying in each camper so I can get to know each of them very well!
Great idea Jami! I would be interested in joining forces, please contact me!
What a great project…..I love your campers and the whole idea. Would love to visit….someday.
